Athletics Rally Behind Langeliers’s 2-Run Homer to Top Twins 6-3

MINNEAPOLIS - Shea Langeliers hit his 27th home run. Tyler Soderstrom extended his hitting streak to 17 games. The Oakland Athletics rallied to beat the Minnesota Twins 6-3 on Wednesday night at Target Field.
After falling behind 1-0 in the second inning on Brandon Lee’s solo shot, the A’s erupted for five runs in the fourth. Nick Kurtz drove in a run with a leadoff double and later capped the rally with an RBI double. Brett Harris added a sacrifice fly and Luis Urías delivered an RBI single to give Oakland a 5-1 advantage. Langeliers’s two-run homer in the third provided insurance.
Jacob Lopez (7–6) got the win after six innings on the mound. He allowed four hits and struck out eight. He gave up three runs, two of which were earned. Justin Sterner pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Hogan Harris came in and struck out the side in the ninth. This was his first save in the majors.
Minnesota got three runs from solo home runs by Lee, Ryan Jeffers, and José Miranda. However, they couldn’t keep up with Oakland’s rally during the middle of the game.
