Black Myth: Zhong Kui Officially Unveiled with First CG Trailer

HANGZHOU, China - August 20, 2025 GameScience, known for the hit RPG Black Myth: Wukong, announced its sequel, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, today at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. The announcement came with the game’s first CG teaser trailer. This marks the official start of the project’s development.
The next Black Myth game will focus on Zhong Kui, the legendary “ghost-catching god.” He travels between Hell and Earth. Geoff Keighley called the title “a distinct new journey rooted in ancient Chinese folklore.” He promised gameplay and stories that differ from the previous game.
GameScience’s FAQ states that Black Myth: Zhong Kui is in early production. The team describes it as “little more than an empty folder at this stage.” No release date was given. However, the studio promised to update fans every August 20, as usual.
The teaser trailer shows off the game’s stunning visuals from Unreal Engine 5. You’ll see swirling energy, giant demon foes, and the striking figure of Zhong Kui with his famous sword.
