Google Unveils AI-Powered Pixel 10 Series at “Made by Google” Event

New York, August 20, 2025 – Google launched its new Pixel smartphones today. The focus is on advanced AI features, not big hardware changes. The announcement occurred at the yearly “Made by Google” event in New York. Jimmy Fallon and the Jonas Brothers were there to show how Google’s Gemini AI assistant works in real life.

The Pixel 10 series comprises four models:

  • Pixel 10 ($799) with a 6.3-inch display and a new telephoto lens
  • Pixel 10 Pro ($999) offering 6.3-inch screen, enhanced AI camera features, and 12 GB of RAM
  • Pixel 10 Pro XL ($1,199) with 6.8-inch display, 256 GB base storage, and peak brightness of 3,300 nits
  • Pixel 10 Pro Fold ($1,799) the updated foldable device with magnetic PixelSnap charging

At the heart of the lineup is the Tensor G5 system-on-chip. It supports on-device AI tasks, such as real-time translation and proactive suggestions. Demonstrations focused on features like “Camera Coach,” which gives live tips in the viewfinder. They also presented “Magic Cue,” which offers prompts tailored to Pixel apps. Google launched PixelJournal for AI-driven life logging. They also added NotebookLM to Pixel Recorder and Screenshots for deeper integration.

Despite modest design changes, Google emphasized its AI capabilities:

  • Proactive assistant features, like surfacing flight confirmations when contacting airlines
  • Real-time conversation translation during calls
  • Enhanced photo editing via conversational prompts

Google’s move to AI-first marketing aims to set Pixel devices apart in a crowded market. Pixel’s global market share is in the low single digits. Still, by embedding Gemini in hardware and software, Google aims to grow beyond just niche users. The company shared news about Pixel’s first launch in Mexico. This is meant to expand its reach.

The Pixel 10 series is up for pre-order today. It will be widely available later this month, and the foldable model will launch in October. Google launched a range of PixelSnap magnetic accessories. This includes chargers, cases, and stands for the new devices.
