Sarah Grace Patrick Case Update – August 20, 2025

Judge Dustin Hightower confirmed that 17-year-old Sarah Grace Patrick will stay in custody. This decision follows Tuesday’s bond hearing. No new motions were filed today.
Earlier this week, a Carroll County judge denied Patrick bond. The ruling came after a two-hour hearing filled with emotion. Family members and church supporters shared conflicting testimonies. Patrick is charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. These charges relate to the February deaths of her mother, Kristin Brock, 41, and stepfather, James Brock, 45. In July, she was taken into custody. This happened months after she called 911. Her 5-year-old half-sister found the victims at their home.
Patrick’s next court date is for a formal arraignment on September 22, 2025. Judge Hightower is ready to start the trial on January 5, 2026. This depends on the grand jury indictment and the outcome of pretrial motions.
