Jasmine Crockett Makes Waves in Politics on August 21, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Thursday, Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett made headlines with bold moves in legislation and political commentary.

On California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast, Crockett took aim at former President Donald Trump and his MAGA supporters. She described them as “the most unpatriotic people” in America. She said that Trump has weakened democratic institutions, from Congress to the courts. She claimed, “It is time for us to take our flag back and show people what America is about.” In the lengthy chat, she accused Trump of damaging the Constitution by abusing executive power and disrespecting U.S. troops overseas.

Crockett teamed up with Republican Representative Zach Nunn from Iowa. They unveiled the bipartisan Next Generation of Farmers Act. This act supports new and beginning farmers with targeted grants, technical help, and easier USDA services. The law is meant to boost rural economies, promote sustainable farming, and ensure that family farms can thrive for years to come across the country.

Crockett’s bold style reached beyond politics. She publicly criticized GOP colleague Marjorie Taylor Greene. Greene had questioned Crockett’s ties to the Black community due to her education. Crockett took to social media to call Greene’s hints “racist.” He emphasized that “both can be—and are, in fact, true.” I’m Black & educated!”

On Thursday, Representative Crockett established herself as a leading progressive voice in Congress. She did this with her podcast, a legislative push, and a firm response to attacks from within her party.
