Father of Celtics Star Jaylen Brown Arrested in Las Vegas Parking Dispute

LAS VEGAS (Aug. 21, 2025) – Quenton M. Brown, 57, father of Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown, was arrested Thursday. He is suspected of attempted murder after a stabbing at All American Park on Buffalo Drive, near Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said officers were sent out around 5:42 p.m. Wednesday. They responded to reports of a man with multiple stab wounds. The victim, a youth football coach, was taken to a local hospital. He was in critical condition and needed surgery for abdominal injuries from the fight.

Police believe the dispute began over a parking space “door ding” in the park’s lot. Witnesses said the coach’s vehicle was hit by Brown’s SUV door. This led to a verbal fight. After a tense argument, the suspect is said to have taken out a knife. He stabbed the victim in the stomach and then fled the scene. He was later apprehended nearby and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Brown, who competed as Marselles Brown from 1989 until almost ten years ago, now faces attempted murder charges. He was due in court Thursday afternoon. It’s not clear if he and Jaylen Brown are close. Reports say Brown found out about his father’s arrest through the media.

The Boston Celtics have not issued a statement. Jaylen Brown, 28, has also not commented on the incident. The investigation is still happening. We will share updates when we have them.
