Super Troopers 3 Enters Production with Returning and New Cast

August 21, 2025 | Spurbury, VT – Searchlight Pictures announced today that filming for Super Troopers 3 has started this week. The Broken Lizard troupe—Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske—will return as Vermont State Troopers. Brian Cox is back as Captain John O’Hagan, and Marisa Coughlan will reprise her role as dispatcher Ursula Hanson.

Searchlight President Matthew Greenfield celebrated the reunion: “Broken Lizard has been with the Searchlight family for over twenty years. We’re excited for another chapter in the Super Troopers saga!" Super Troopers makes the absurd seem natural. We can’t wait to take audiences on another adventure with these characters. They spread joy and laughter wherever their patrols go. Director and star Jay Chandrasekhar said, “Broken Lizard is thrilled to help bring comedy back to theaters.” To America, we say, ‘It’s mustache-growing time!’”.

Joining the original ensemble are new cast members Nat Faxon plays Captain Todd Markowski. Chace Crawford is Baker Buchanan. Andrew Dismukes takes on Coy Burns. Filming is set for this fall in Vermont. No release date has been announced yet.

First released in 2001, the series is famous for its quirky humor and memorable pranks. It was followed by the crowdfunding-backed Super Troopers 2 in 2018. Production is now underway. Fans can expect Super Troopers 3 to hit theaters in the summer of 2026.
