Bayern Munich opened the 2025–26 Bundesliga season with a 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig at a sold-out Allianz Arena. Defending champions Bayern won again on Matchday 1. They’ve now gone 24 opening fixtures without a loss since 2002.

First Half

Bayern took the lead in the 13th minute. Harry Kane got on the end of a great pass from Joshua Kimmich and slid it low past Péter Gulácsi. Leipzig, missing key defensive starters, had a tough time early on. But they fought back in the 28th minute. Loïs Openda found the net with a scrappy finish after a set-piece scramble.

Second Half

The hosts regained momentum after the break. In the 57th minute, Luis Díaz curled in a stunning effort from the edge of the box to restore Bayern’s lead. Ten minutes later, Michael Olise finished a great counterattack. He fired the ball into the roof of the net, sealing the win.
