Caleb Williams, in relief duty, added 11-of-15 passing for 113 yards and one score. D’Andre Swift led Chicago’s ground game. He gained 28 yards on seven carries. The Bears struck just before halftime. Williams hit Rome Odunze with a sharp fade route in the end zone. This made the score 20-10 at the break.

In the second half, Chicago’s defense forced a turnover on downs. This set up Bagent’s two touchdown passes—one to Odunze and another to a backup receiver. The game was tied 27-27 late in the fourth quarter. With under two minutes left, Bagent led an 8-play, 75-yard drive. It ended with a go-ahead touchdown pass to a tight end with only 12 seconds remaining.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson praised his team’s resilience and late-game skills. He sees these as signs of growth, even though preseason records don’t count. Chicago improves to 2-0-1 in preseason play, while the Chiefs fall to 0-3.

The Bears’ regular-season opener is on September 8 at Soldier Field. They will take on the Minnesota Vikings.
