Dallas Cowboys Host Silver & Blue Debut as Contract Drama Continues

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Dallas Cowboys welcomed fans of all ages to AT&T Stadium on Saturday. This was for the annual Silver & Blue Debut, presented by Miller Lite. It marked the first public event at the team’s home since training camp ended in Frisco. Many fans filled the concourses to enjoy an open practice. They toured the locker room, met cheerleaders and Coyote the mascot, and watched player introductions on the field. Kids eagerly waited for autographs from draft picks Jaydon Blue and Perrion Winfrey. At the same time, veterans CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons took part in drills with the rookies. Team reps noted record attendance for the event. This shows the fan base’s excitement as the Cowboys prepare for the regular season.

All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons ramped up his stance in the contract standoff with owner Jerry Jones. He deleted all mentions of Dallas from his social media and shared a farewell-style highlight reel. The video showed Parsons in Cowboys gear with an Allen Iverson clip about winning anywhere. This has sparked rumors that he might sit out the season or ask for a trade.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones stated he won’t trade Parsons. He also won’t bow to the agent’s requests. Recently, he mentioned that a record-setting deal was offered but turned down by Parsons’ representative. On Friday, Jones said, “Any talk of trading [Parsons] is BS.” He added that the team has enough depth at edge rusher to move forward without their star if needed.

As the Cowboys get ready for their Week 1 game at Philadelphia on September 7, their fan celebration stands out. However, contract issues may overshadow the start of the NFL season. Internal sources show both sides are still far apart. So, Parsons’ status for the first regular-season game is in doubt.
