Giants Slip Past Brewers 1-0 in Pitchers’ Duel at American Family Field

MILWAUKEE (Aug. 23, 2025) – In a close game, the San Francisco Giants beat the Milwaukee Brewers 1–0. This matchup was key for both teams in the National League, as they compete for postseason spots. The game took place Saturday night at American Family Field.
Logan Webb shone for the Giants, giving up only four hits. He struck out seven batters in seven scoreless innings. Webb (12–9) kept Milwaukee’s strong lineup off balance. He worked well through the middle innings before handing it over to the bullpen.
The lone run of the contest came in the bottom of the fifth. Heliot Ramos started strong with a double down the left-field line. He scored on Brandon Crawford’s two-out RBI single to right. This gave San Francisco a key 1–0 lead.
Milwaukee starter Freddy Peralta (15–6) had a great game. He gave up only one run and three hits. He struck out six batters in eight innings. His counterpart on the bump - Webb - received more run support but surrendered no earned runs.
Anthony DeSclafani pitched a scoreless eighth inning. Then, Camilo Doval closed it out in the ninth. He earned his 28th save by getting Christian Yelich to hit a comebacker for the final out.
The Giants’ win ended their three-game losing streak. They are now 62–67 this season. In contrast, the Brewers fell to 80–49. The teams wrap up the three-game series tomorrow afternoon. San Francisco will have lefty Kyle Harrison pitch against Milwaukee’s Adrian Houser.
