PGA Tour Championship Weather Forces Schedule Change Ahead of Second Round

ATLANTA, Ga. - On Friday, August 22, officials at East Lake Golf Club changed the second-round tee times for the 2025 Tour Championship. They moved them up by three hours due to expected bad weather. This tournament wraps up the FedExCup Playoffs. Rain and thunderstorms expected throughout the afternoon led to a revised schedule running from 8:00 a.m. to 10:44 a.m. local time, with pairings teeing off in groups of two off the No. 1 tee.

Russell Henley, who carded a nine-under-par 61 on Thursday to seize a two-stroke lead, and world No. nbsp;1 Scottie Scheffler will anchor the final pairing. Henley had an amazing, bogey-free first round with seven birdies and an eagle. Scheffler shot a 63, placing him at seven under.

The new timetable plans to finish the second round before the heavy afternoon storms hit. Catch live coverage on Golf Channel from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. ET. After that, NBC will show the weekend broadcasts for the third and final rounds. Spectators should arrive early. Gates open at 7:00 a.m. Be ready for the August heat and possible rain.
