Saudi Super Cup Final Preview: Al-Nassr vs Al-Ahli

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, Al-Nassr takes on Al-Ahli at Hong Kong Stadium. This is the 12th Saudi Super Cup and the first time it is held outside the Middle East. Kick-off is at 12:00 UTC (5:30 PM IST). It’s Cristiano Ronaldo’s team against Riyad Mahrez’s AFC Champions League winners.

Al-Nassr arrives eager to end a two-year trophy drought. They aim to add a third Super Cup title, following their wins in 2019 and 2020. Even with only ten players for more than an hour in their 2–1 semi-final win over Al-Ittihad, Sadio Mané scored early. Then, João Félix added a second-half goal to send them to today’s final. Jorge Jesus’s team has not lost in seven matches against Al-Ahli. They won three of the last four games.

Al-Ahli clinched their spot with a strong 5–1 win over Al-Qadsiah. Mahrez provided two key assists in the match. This will be their first Super Cup final since 2016, when they lifted the trophy.

Lineups are expected to feature:

Al-Nassr: - Bento (GK) - Boushal, Simakan, Martínez, Yahya (DEF) - Brozović, Al-Khaibari, Coman, Wesley (MID) - Félix, Ronaldo (FWD) Al-Ahli: Mendy; Yousef, Demiral, Ibañez, Dams; Kessié, Millot, Al-Buraikan, Mahrez, Galeno; Toney.

With both teams having elite talent, this match is set to highlight Saudi football’s rising global impact. A win for Al-Nassr would show their recent strength against rivals. It would also give Ronaldo his first trophy at the club. He has scored 99 goals in 111 games across all competitions.
