Arsenal Dominant as Leeds United Crumble at Emirates Stadium

LONDON, August 23, 2025 – Arsenal kicked off their Premier League season with a strong 4-0 win against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

In front of a lively home crowd, the Gunners showed their early-season form. They combined sharp attacking moves with strong defending. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli caused problems for Leeds’ defense on the wings. At the same time, Declan Rice and Martín Zubimendi took charge in midfield, controlling the ball and rhythm.

Arsenal took the lead in the first half. Martinelli seized a loose ball in the area and calmly scored past Illan Meslier. Just ten minutes later, Saka made it two. He curled a shot from the edge of the box after a nice one-two with Ødegaard.

After the break, Manchester United signed Declan Rice. He boosted their lead with a strong run and a steady finish. Rice cut in from the right and drove the ball low into the corner. Mikel Arteta’s team capped off the game when Ødegaard fired a long shot past Meslier.

Leeds United had a hard time making good chances. They were punished for their defensive mistakes. Manager Daniel Farke’s team hasn’t won in their last seven trips to the Emirates. They now face a tough challenge to recover next weekend.

With this strong win, Arsenal moves to the top of the table on goal difference. Leeds drops to midtable as both teams get ready for their next matches.
