College Football Scores Recap – August 23, 2025

DUBLIN, IRELAND (Aer Lingus College Football Classic) Iowa State 24, Kansas State 21 In a thrilling opener played at Aviva Stadium, the Iowa State Cyclones edged the Kansas State Wildcats 24-21. At halftime, ISU trailed 14-7. Quarterback Charlie Johnson led a comeback in the third quarter. He tossed a 27-yard touchdown to wide receiver Jalen Brown. Kansas State scored first in the fourth with a field goal. Then, Iowa State’s Marcus Green caught a 35-yard touchdown to secure the win for the Cyclones. Cameron Hansen led Iowa State with 71 yards on 16 carries. Meanwhile, K-State’s Lewis Harris ran for 58 yards.
FCS Action Nicholls State 20, Incarnate Word 6 In the FCS season opener, Nicholls State beat the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals 20-6. The game took place in Lafayette, Louisiana. The Colonels took charge in the second quarter. They scored two touchdowns. One was a 39-yard run by tailback Darius Thomas. UIW could only manage two field goals. Nicholls’ defense caused three turnovers and kept the Cardinals to 245 total yards.
