Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale Kicks Off with Eternatus Worldwide

August 23, 2025 (Pokémon GO Newsroom) -strong> - Niantic today launched the grand finale of its summer GO Fest series, Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale, featuring the first global debut of Eternatus in Max Battles.
Eternatus is a massive Poison- and Dragon-type Legendary. It now shows up in six-star Max Battles at Power Spots around the world. Trainers level 13 and up can take on Eternamax Eternatus. By doing so, they can earn a lot of Eternatus Candy and Eternatus Candy XL. This lets them power up their own Eternatus after catching it with the GO Pass: Max Finale.
All Trainers can join the fun! From now until tomorrow, August 24, there’s no limit on Remote Raids. Enjoy Battles from anywhere in the world without using Premium Raid Passes. Max Finale’s GO Pass tasks focus on winning Max Battles. The free track unlocks an encounter with Eternatus at rank 60. You can get a Deluxe GO Pass. It offers extra Candy, XL Candy, and special avatar items like the Eternatus Helmet.
While launching Max Battles, Niantic announced a delay for Eternatus-themed avatar items. They were meant to be sold during the event but face quality issues. Updates on availability will be posted on the Pokémon GO blog and social media.
The event takes place today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. Trainers can face a historic challenge and collect Candy rewards. These rewards are key to powering up one of the strongest Pokémon in GO’s history.
