Kansas Jayhawks Season Opener Sells Out as Jayhawks Host Fresno State

Lawrence, KS - Kansas Athletics announced Saturday that the 2025 season opener against Fresno State is sold out. This means a full house for the Jayhawks’ first game in the newly reimagined David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

Tonight’s Week 0 matchup kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX, with Kansas opening under fifth-year head coach Lance Leipold. The Jayhawks, coming off two straight bowl games in 2022 and 2023, are 12.5-point favorites. They also have a strong moneyline at –485.

In advance of kickoff, analysts at The Action Network anticipate a high-scoring affair:

  • Over 50.5 points (Play to 51.5) is the top total pick
  • Fresno State team total over 17.5 points is also projected to cash

Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels is a key playmaker. He led the Big 12 in yards per completion last season. Now, he’s set to direct the Jayhawks’ offense in front of a packed stadium. The Fresno State Bulldogs are +370 underdogs on the moneyline and +14.0 on the spread. They’re led by new head coach Matt Entz.

Kansas expects a sold-out crowd that will bring its famous electric atmosphere. The team aims to defend its home turf and keep the momentum going. Under Leipold, they’ve achieved 22 wins in the last four seasons. This is the program’s best stretch since 2007–10.
