Little League World Series Championship Semifinals Recap – August 23, 2025

Chinese Taipei and Fairfield National Little League earned spots in Sunday’s World Championship Game. They both secured strong wins on Saturday at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Chinese Taipei 3, Aruba 0 In the International Championship Game, the Taipei team beat Santa Cruz 3–0. This shutout avenged their earlier 4–0 loss. Taipei stays undefeated in Williamsport. Starter Li Yu-Heng struck out nine batters in six innings. He used precise fastballs and a mix of off-speed pitches. Meanwhile, the Taiwan offense scored three runs on five hits. Chen Qi-Sheng hit an RBI double in the second inning. Then, in the fourth, Tsai Yu-Ge added a two-out single. These plays gave all the run support needed. China Taipei’s defense kept the shutout alive. They made a key double play to end the sixth inning and stop Aruba’s rally attempt.
Connecticut 7, Nevada 3 In the U.S. Championship, Fairfield National Little League from Connecticut beat Las Vegas’s Summerlin South, 7–3. This win gave them the U.S. title and a perfect 5–0 record in the tournament. Connecticut’s offense struck early, plating four runs in the first two innings. Starter Luca Pellegrini had a tough start but found his rhythm. He allowed six hits and three runs in five innings, striking out seven batters. In the third inning, Tommy D’Amura and Dante Madera both hit two-run doubles. This boosted the lead. Nick Banks then stepped in for relief and helped seal the victory.
This Sunday, tune in for the World Championship Game. Chinese Taipei will play Fairfield National (Connecticut) at 3 p.m. ET on ABC. Before that, at 10 a.m. ET on ESPN, Aruba will face Nevada for third place.
