Cantlay, Fleetwood Share 54-Hole Lead at Tour Championship

ATLANTA, Ga. ((Aug. 23, 2025) - Patrick Cantlay shot a fantastic 6-under 64 on Saturday. This score pulled him into a tie with Tommy Fleetwood, both at 16-under after three rounds of the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club. The American’s round featured four birdies over his final five holes, his lowest score since January, while Fleetwood rebounded from a double bogey on No. 15 to card a 67.
Keegan Bradley and Russell Henley lurk two shots back at 14-under, and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler sits four strokes off the pace in fifth at 12-under. With $10 million in FedEx Cup bonus money at stake, Cantlay and Fleetwood will tee off together in Sunday’s final pairing. Cantlay seeks his first win since 2022, while Fleetwood aims for his first PGA Tour title.
Cantlay, the 2021 FedEx Cup champion, birdied Nos. 14–17 to vault into the lead, then two-putted the 18th to tie Fleetwood. ““It’s nice to close the way I did, especially the last two days,” Cantlay said. ““I’m pleased with where I’m at.” Fleetwood, after his water-ball mistake on the par-3 15th, bounced back. He made birdies on the next two holes. 16 and 17 to maintain his share of the lead.
Sunday’s final round will be full of drama. Both contenders want to win the season-ending title. It’s also important for Cantlay. He’s hoping for a captain’s pick for the Ryder Cup, which is just a month away.
