Draw at Racecourse Ground as Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday Share Early Points

WREXHAM, Aug. 23, 2025 – In a thrilling match at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday ended in a 2-2 draw. Both teams earned their first point of the season.
Wrexham stormed into a two-goal lead inside the opening half-hour. Kieffer Moore scored with a strong header in the 15th minute. He followed that up with a brilliant looping shot in the 31st minute. Wednesday’s keeper, Dénes Dibusz, couldn’t stop either goal.
Sheffield Wednesday fought back after the break. In the 63rd minute, Barry Bannan found the net. His shot deflected off a defender, beating Danny Ward at his near post. The visitors tied the game in the 81st minute. Bailey Cadamarteri scored with a precise shot into the corner after a clever play on the right side.
