San Francisco 49ers Finalize Brian Robinson Jr. Trade After Physical

SANTA CLARA, Calif. ((Aug. 24, 2025) - The San Francisco 49ers completed their trade for running back Brian Robinson Jr. on Sunday. He passed his physical, according to team reports. Robinson’s move to the Bay Area is now official. He was traded from the Washington Commanders for a sixth-round draft pick in 2026.
Robinson won’t play in the preseason finale against the Los Angeles Chargers at Levi’s Stadium. He joins a backfield with Isaac Guerendo, Jeff Wilson Jr., and Ke’Shawn Vaughn. His addition is the 49ers’ second trade this week. They just acquired wide receiver Skyy Moore from the Kansas City Chiefs. Moore is set to make his preseason debut tonight.
NFL teams must trim rosters to 53 players by Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. PT. So, San Francisco’s front office is finalizing its moves before the regular season kicks off. Robinson’s arrival helps an offense aiming to improve its ground game as it gets ready for Week 1.
