Chinese Taipei Takes Early Lead in Little League World Series Final

South Williamsport, PA - Chinese Taipei took the lead in the Little League World Series championship on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025. They scored after a mistake by a Nevada pitcher, making it 1–0 in the bottom of the first inning at Howard J. Lamade Stadium.

For the second year in a row, Chinese Taipei represented the Asia-Pacific Region. They made it to the title game after a close match against Aruba. Liu Wei-Heng pitched five scoreless innings, leading his team to a 1–0 semifinal win. In the final, key starter Lin Chin-Tse pitched for Chinese Taipei. He aimed to secure the team’s 17th Little League World Series title.

Nevada, the U.S. Mountain Region champion, earned its place with a strong 8–2 win over Connecticut. However, they fell behind early. A routine throw from ace pitcher Luke D’Ambrosio went past the first baseman, letting Chen Shi-Hong from Chinese Taipei score easily.

““Everyone’s ready for battle,” Chinese Taipei manager Lai Min-Nan said before the game. ““Our pitching staff is confident, and we’ll stick to our plan.”

The first pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. ET. You can catch it live on ABC or stream it on Fubo and ESPN.

Chinese Taipei hasn’t won the LLWS title since 1996. Still, they are a strong team in Williamsport. They have played in 33 tournaments and won 17 championships. Nevada is vying for the first LLWS crown in state history.

Updates on the game will flow in this afternoon. Both teams are going after baseball’s legendary youth championship.
