Ongoing Search for Missing Infant Emmanuel Haro Enters Tenth Day

San Bernardino County, CA - On Sunday, August 24, 2025, investigators kept searching for seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro. Sadly, he is now presumed dead. Authorities believe the reported kidnapping did not happen.
Sheriff’s Homicide Detail detectives are still in Yucaipa and Cabazon. They are searching neighborhoods, reviewing surveillance footage, and rechecking digital evidence from the Haro home. Despite days of searching with K-9 units and dive teams, no new leads have surfaced. The department is asking for help. If you have any information, even small details, please call the Homicide Detail at 909-890-4904. You can also send an anonymous tip through We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME.
Meanwhile, the investigation into Rebecca and Jake Haro’s conduct has broadened. Riverside County child protective services confirmed that a separate child-abuse report related to the couple is still under review. However, no new charges have been filed. Both parents are in custody on murder charges. They will be arraigned on September 2 in Riverside County Superior Court. No bail is allowed.
On Saturday evening, a candlelight vigil was held outside the Haros’ Cabazon home. Many residents, family friends, and local pastors came together. They prayed for Emmanuel’s safe return and offered comfort to the grieving community. Ramona Street was lined with blue balloons, signs, and toys. Attendees lit candles and held hands in a show of solidarity.
Sheriff Shannon Dicus thanked the public and media for keeping Emmanuel’s story alive. However, he stressed, “Our work is far from over until we recover Emmanuel’s remains.” He urged everyone to stay alert: “Trust your instincts and come forward with tips. We need the community’s help.”
