Little League World Series Daily Report – August 24, 2025

South Williamsport, PA – The 2025 Little League World Series hit its high point today. Both the International and United States championship games were decided, while the third-place consolation match rounded out the day’s events.
Chinese Taipei (Asia-Pacific) made it to the World Series final after a close 1-0 win over Aruba, the Caribbean champion. In a tight game at Volunteer Stadium, Liu Wei-hung threw 5.1 scoreless innings. Chen Qi-sheng wrapped things up, giving up four hits. This win kept Chinese Taipei unbeaten in Williamsport.
**United States Championship** Summerlin South Little League from the Mountain Region (Nevada) won its first U.S. championship. They beat Fairfield (Connecticut) from the Metro Region 8-2. Nevada’s offense took control early and never relented. They avenged a previous loss to Connecticut and became the first Nevada team to reach the LLWS final.
Third-Place Game This morning at Howard J. Lamade Stadium, Fairfield from Connecticut took third place. They beat Aruba, the Caribbean runner-up, with a score of 4-2. Connecticut scored three runs in the third inning, thanks to a wild pitch. They then held off Aruba’s late rally to win the consolation trophy.
World Championship Matchup The Little League World Series title game is set! Chinese Taipei will face Nevada on Sunday, August 24, at 3:00 p.m. ET. You can watch it on ESPN and ABC. The consolation game for fifth place will precede it at 10:00 a.m. ET, also at Howard J. Lamade Stadium.
