Ryan Blaney Edges Four-Wide to Claim Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - In a thrilling finish on August 24, 2025, Ryan Blaney raced from 13th to win the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. He triumphed in a historic four-wide sprint to the finish line.

A Last-Lap Masterstroke Blaney drove his No. 12 Team Penske Ford to victory by just 0.031 seconds. He edged out Daniel Suárez, Justin Haley, and Cole Custer, who all raced toward the finish line nearly four wide. With two laps left, Blaney fell back in the pack. He joined Suárez and Cole Custer in the top groove. Custer went low off the last turn, and Blaney moved up to the high line. He edged ahead as they entered the trioval, finishing just a car-length in front.

Drama in the Draft The frenetic final laps featured multiple lead changes and intense pack racing. Tyler Reddick was in the top 15 when he had a late-race incident. On Lap 158, he collided with Todd Gilliland. Despite serious front-end damage, he got back in the race and secured enough points for a playoff spot. A 12-car pileup on Lap 28 took out Alex Bowman, ending his night. This also secured Reddick’s position.

Blaney’s victory at Daytona marked his second win this season and his second there since 2021. This kept things steady on the playoff grid. Fourteen drivers secured their spots through wins. Tyler Reddick and Alex Bowman took the last two spots on points. Reddick held a slight lead after surviving a crash. Bowman made it in thanks to the win-and-in system, even after his early exit.
