At 10:00 AM local time, the tournament’s main draw began. This year, it started a day earlier. The new 15-day schedule aims to handle a surge in spectators. Now, early rounds will last three days instead of two. Temperatures were around a pleasant 25 °C (77 °F). This made it great for players and fans.

Novak Djokovic, a 38-year-old who has won 24 Grand Slam titles, led the night session at Arthur Ashe Stadium. He started his campaign against France’s Quentin Halys. He said his main goal is Grand Slam success as the season’s last major begins. Top seed Jannik Sinner, the defending champion, showcased his fitness and sharp groundstrokes in the first round.
