A Mercedes couple found dead An elderly couple, Rosalinda and Joel Garcia, were discovered unresponsive inside their vehicle at their home on 10th Street and Rio Rico Road over the weekend. Autopsy results are pending, but authorities currently rule out foul play.

McAllen officer assaulted; suspect arrested On Sunday in downtown McAllen, a female police officer was struck in the face amid an altercation captured on video. Investigators have taken one suspect into custody and are seeking additional persons shown tackling other officers in the footage.

Deadline approaches for McAllen rental assistance Low-income renters in McAllen have until Thursday to apply for city-funded rental assistance. Applications may be submitted in person at the Las Palmas Community Center between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m..
