No Remains of Baby Emmanuel Haro Found Despite Search Efforts, Authorities Say

MORONGO VALLEY, Calif., Aug. 25, 2025 - The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Monday that a search conducted Sunday for the body of seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro yielded no remains, dispelling circulating rumors that the infant’s body had been recovered.

Jake Haro, the child’s father who was arrested last week on suspicion of murder, accompanied detectives and cadaver dogs to a remote field off the westbound shoulder of State Route 60 near Gilman Springs Road in Moreno Valley. Despite intensive efforts, authorities concluded that Emmanuel was not located at the site and the investigation remains active.

Social media posts had claimed that Emmanuel’s remains were discovered after Jake Haro allegedly led detectives to a burial spot. Those reports, which went viral late Sunday, were proven unfounded when the sheriff’s department issued a statement around 4:30 p.m. confirming the search’s conclusion and emphasizing that no evidence of the child’s body was found.

Emmanuel was first reported missing on Aug. 14 after his mother, Rebecca Haro, claimed she was attacked and knocked unconscious while changing her baby’s diaper in a Yucaipa parking lot. Inconsistent statements from both parents prompted investigators to shift their focus from an abduction to suspected foul play. On Aug. 22, Jake and Rebecca Haro were arrested at their Cabazon home; charges have not yet been formally filed but are expected to include murder.

Sheriff Shannon Dicus reiterated that “the investigation to find Emmanuel continues” and urged anyone with information to contact the Specialized Investigations Division at (909) 890-4904 or submit anonymous tips via We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME.

Investigators have since reclassified the case as a suspected homicide. While the Haros remain in custody-with no bail set-the search for Emmanuel’s whereabouts and the truth behind his disappearance continues unabated.
