University of Arizona Kicks Off Fall Semester on August 25, 2025

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona officially opened its Fall 2025 semester today, Monday, August 25, ushering in the first day of classes, the launch of key administrative scheduling activities, and the debut of a new season of Wildcats football programming.

The academic year began at 12:01 a.m. with the First Day of Fall Classes, as thousands of Wildcats students returned to campus for lectures, labs, and discussion sections across the university’s colleges and schools.

Concurrently, the Office of Room & Course Scheduling (RCS) announced that the Winter 2025 and Spring 2026 scheduling cycle has transitioned to the “Closed” phase, with the Schedule of Classes now open for department scheduler review. Faculty and departmental staff are invited to use UAccess Analytics to download and inspect the Schedule Overview, isolate sections requiring assignment adjustments, and schedule one-on-one Resolution Week appointments between September 2-12 to finalize classroom allocations.

In athletics and student life, University of Arizona fans gathered tonight at Union Public House in Saint Phillips Plaza for the first of 12 weekly broadcasts of the Brent Brennan Radio Show. Hosted by “Voice of the Wildcats” Brian Jeffries, head coach Brent Brennan previewed the upcoming 2025 football season and discussed the season-opener against Hawai‘i on August 30 at Arizona Stadium.

With the kick-off of day one completed, the University of Arizona community looks forward to a semester filled with academic discovery, campus events, and Wildcat spirit.
