Searches Surge Ahead of Wednesday’s Powerball Drawing

AUSTIN, Aug. 26, 2025 - Online interest spiked Tuesday as lottery players nationwide queried “what time is the Powerball drawing,” preparing for the next opportunity to win an estimated half-billion-dollar jackpot.

According to the official Powerball website, drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Sales cut-off times vary by state but generally close one to two hours before the draw.

With ticket purchases for Wednesday’s drawing set to expire by 9:00 p.m. ET in many jurisdictions, retail outlets and state lottery apps reported a surge in last-minute sales. Lottery officials remind players to verify local cut-off deadlines, as late transactions will be entered into the following draw.

Winners must match five white balls (numbered 1-69) plus the red Powerball (1-26) to claim the jackpot. Secondary prizes range from $4 for matching the Powerball alone to $1 million for all five white balls. Results will be posted immediately following the drawing on participating state lottery websites and the Powerball mobile app.
