North Carolina Lottery News - August 26, 2025

Raleigh, N.C. - North Carolina lottery players will have the opportunity today to compete for a record‐setting $700 million Powerball jackpot, the largest prize offered in the state in more than a year.

Yesterday’s Powerball run generated significant activity across the state, selling 42,452 winning tickets of various prize levels and contributing an estimated $12.6 million to public education programs in North Carolina. Players have the choice of a 30‐year annuity totaling $700 million or a one‐time cash payment of $316 million.

Meanwhile, Levi Hutchens of Thomasville claimed the final top prize in the Diamond 10X scratch‐off game on Friday, winning $200,000 before taxes and marking the end of the game’s run. After withholdings, Hutchens took home $143,501, which he plans to use for home renovations and a new truck.

In addition to tonight’s Powerball drawing, North Carolinians can still participate in the NASCAR Powerball Playoff™ promotion, where one lucky ticket holder will win $1 million.

Powerball tickets are available at any authorized retailer statewide, online at nclottery.com, or via the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The drawing will be held at 10 :59 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, August 26, with numbers broadcast live on local television and streamed on nclottery.com. Good luck!
