Caleb Hearon Ranked Sixth on Rolling Stone’s Most Influential Creators List; MrBeast Deletes Controversial Post

On August 27, 2025, Rolling Stone published its annual list of the 25 Most Influential Creators, placing comedian Caleb Hearon in the sixth position and prompting a social media stir involving YouTuber MrBeast.

According to the magazine, Hearon’s sharp wit, podcast success, and viral stand-up presence earned him his spot among industry heavyweights. The announcement went live on August 26, but reactions continued into the early hours of August 27.

Shortly after the list’s release, MrBeast took to X to question his own seventh-place ranking beneath Hearon, writing, “According to this list a guy with 1 million followers is more influential than me. What did I do to piss off The Rolling Stones.” He later deleted the post amid backlash from fans defending Hearon. MrBeast clarified his decision to remove the tweet, admitting that after sampling Hearon’s work he found it “actually good” and did not “want the smoke from the shooters”.

Hearon acknowledged his inclusion on the list with gratitude via an Instagram story featuring a screenshot of MrBeast’s deleted post, thanking Rolling Stone for the honor and congratulating his fellow creators.

Rolling Stone’s feature spotlights Hearon’s meteoric rise-from his podcast So True with Caleb Hearon to sold-out comedy tours and an upcoming HBO special-and underscores a growing recognition of cultural impact over raw follower counts.
