Trailer for “Degrassi: Whatever It Takes” Drops, Offering First Look at Iconic Teen Drama Documentary

Toronto, August 28, 2025 - WildBrain and Peacock Alley Entertainment released the official trailer for Degrassi: Whatever It Takes, a feature-length documentary tracing the four-decade legacy of the landmark Canadian teen drama. Directed by Lisa Rideout, the film will make its world premiere on September 13 at the Toronto International Film Festival as a TIFF 50 Official Selection.
The two-minute preview reunites generations of cast members-including Aubrey “Drake” Graham, Shenae Grimes-Beech, Jake Epstein, Miriam McDonald, Stefan Brogren and Amanda Stepto-to reflect on the show’s unflinching exploration of adolescence. In one clip, Drake recalls, “I didn’t have a great time in high school. I just didn’t really fit in. Then one day, my mom called me and told me, ‘You got the role.’ And man, what a wild journey that started”.
Promising an insider’s view of both the creative triumphs and personal sacrifices behind the franchise, the documentary features interviews with creator Linda Schuyler, executive producer Stephen Stohn and superfans such as filmmaker Kevin Smith. Degrassi: Whatever It Takes aims to honor the series’ fearless storytelling-from tackling teen pregnancy and mental health to LGBTQ identity-while charting its enduring cultural impact.
