Eddie Vedder Spotlight at Vedder Cup Finale

Seattle, WA (August 27, 2025) - Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder added rock-and-roll flair to the final game of the inaugural Vedder Cup today at T-Mobile Park.
In partnership with the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres, Vedder helped launch a limited-edition Vedder Cup hat giveaway, handing out exclusive caps to the first 5,000 fans through the gates. The commemorative hat, created in Vedder’s distinctive style, celebrates the official interleague rivalry series, with proceeds supporting the EB Research Partnership, the rare-disease charity co-founded by Eddie and his wife Jill.
Vedder also made a virtual appearance alongside Mariners broadcaster Michael Hund. A special video segment aired live in the second inning, during which Vedder discussed the origins of the Vedder Cup and the importance of raising awareness-and funds-for families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa.
On the field, the Padres edged the Mariners 7-6 to knot the season series 1-1, setting up a winner-take-all showdown for the Vedder Cup trophy tomorrow. The team that prevails will receive the custom Fender Telecaster trophy personally crafted and blessed by Vedder himself-a fitting symbol of this unique baseball-meets-rock tradition.
Fans attending today’s game not only enjoyed a thrilling ballgame but also a memorable connection to one of rock’s most enduring voices, all while contributing to a cause close to his heart.
