Emmanuel Haro Case Developments on August 27, 2025

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. - New information emerged today in the investigation into the disappearance and presumed death of 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro, whose parents, Rebecca and Jake Haro, are charged with his murder.
Prosecutors Narrow Date of Death Riverside County Deputy District Attorney Michael Hestrin announced in court filings that evidence suggests Emmanuel likely died between August 5 and August 14-up to nine days before his mother reported him missing on August 14.
Father’s Alleged Confession Law enforcement sources revealed that Jake Haro has confessed to killing his son and disposing of the infant’s body in a trash receptacle, following a covert operation in which an undercover inmate elicited the admission. Investigators say Emmanuel suffered prolonged physical abuse at the hands of both parents.
Search for Remains Continues Despite intensified searches in Moreno Valley fields and along freeway embankments, authorities have not yet recovered Emmanuel’s remains. Sheriff Chad Bianco reiterated that finding the child’s body is “our top priority,” and that search teams will persist until the remains are located.
Background and Charges Emmanuel was reported missing on August 14, when Rebecca Haro claimed she was assaulted in a Yucaipa parking lot and awoke to find her son gone. Inconsistencies in her account prompted investigators to focus on Rebecca and Jake Haro, who were arrested on August 22 and are each held on $1 million bail. Both face one count of murder with malice and a misdemeanor count of filing a false police report.
Their next court appearance is scheduled for September 4, when arraignment proceedings will continue.
