Portland Weather Report - Wednesday, August 27, 2025

PORTLAND, OR - Today, Portland endured hazy, very warm conditions under abundant sunshine, with temperatures soaring into the mid-80s and peaking near 86°F, making it one of the warmest days so far this summer. A stagnant high-pressure system aloft allowed smoke from regional wildfires to drift into the Willamette Valley, resulting in unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups throughout the afternoon.
Early Wednesday, coastal fog extended inland, shrouding downtown neighborhoods in mist until about midday, when breezy southerly winds cleared skies by late morning. Observations at Portland-Troutdale Airport recorded a high of 91.0°F, calm winds, and clear skies by 5:53 PM PDT.
Despite ample sunshine, relative humidity climbed into the upper 60s, producing a muggy feel, while no measurable precipitation fell across the metro area for the tenth consecutive day. Evening temperatures will dip to a low near 62°F, maintaining partly cloudy skies overnight.
Outlook: Thursday should remain very warm with afternoon highs near 87°F and gradually improving air quality as winds shift to the northwest. No rain is expected through Friday.
