NEW YORK, August 27, 2025 - Amazon’s streaming service Prime Video today unveiled the launch of two high-profile original series, bolstering its late-summer slate with a pair of espionage thrillers and historical drama.
Prime Video debuted The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, a prequel to its hit action series. Co-created by Jack Carr and David DiGilio, the spin-off follows Navy SEAL-turned-CIA operative Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) on his earliest clandestine missions, exploring the personal and moral costs of covert warfare. The four-episode season offers fans an immersive dive into the character’s backstory, with Chris Pratt reprising his role as James Reece in flashback sequences.
Simultaneously, the streamer released The Queen’s Game, directed by Karim Aïnouz and starring Alicia Vikander and Jude Law. This historical drama chronicles the life of Catherine Parr, the last wife of Henry VIII, blending political intrigue and royal romance against the turbulent backdrop of Tudor England. The series promises lavish production design and a nuanced portrayal of one of history’s most enigmatic queens.
With today’s premieres, Prime Video reinforces its commitment to original programming, offering subscribers both high-stakes spy action and richly textured period storytelling as summer streaming intensifies.
