Survivor 49 News Update - August 27, 2025

Washington, D.C. (August 27, 2025) - In an exclusive interview published today, 27-year-old political communications director Alex Moore opened up about his strategy, in-camp observations and ambitions on the upcoming season of Survivor 49, which premieres next month on CBS.
Alex Moore described his approach to finding hidden advantages on the Fiji islands as guided by a simple mantra: “Why not me?” He emphasized his willingness to wake early and scour the jungle for idols, citing veteran player Tony’s pre-dawn searches as inspiration. “If someone’s going to have power, why shouldn’t it be me?” Moore explained, noting that secrecy is key to avoiding an early target on one’s back.
Moore also offered a candid assessment of his fellow castaways’ early behavior: > “There are a few players who’ve had their faces buried in video games the entire time. We’re in Fiji-look at the view! But overall, I’ve seen a lot of genuine smiles and friendly faces, which bodes well for camp life before alliances shake out”.
When asked how he balances social gameplay with aggressive idol hunting, Moore acknowledged the inherent risk of being detected. “You have to be clandestine-no one should know you have an advantage until you’re ready to use it,” he said. He also criticized contestants who prematurely flaunt discovered advantages, arguing that discretion is fundamental to Survivor success.
As one of 18 new castaways vying for the $1 million prize, Alex Moore’s blend of social confidence and strategic ambition positions him as a contender to watch when Survivor 49 debuts on Wednesday, September 24 at 8 PM ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+.
