TELLURIDE, CO - August 28, 2025

Telluride residents and visitors experienced a mix of community events, transportation updates, and adverse weather conditions today.

A free evening concert by the Telluride Gold Kings took place at the Sheridan Historic Bar from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., marking the third installment of the summer series and drawing local music enthusiasts to Town Park for blues and roots performances.

On Colorado Highway 145 between Society Drive and Wagner Way, the Colorado Department of Transportation continued its three-day paving operations, resulting in 15-30 minute delays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Motorists traveling to Mountain Village were advised to plan accordingly.

Meanwhile, US Highway 550 between Durango and Silverton saw the final day of its four-hour daily closures (11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) for culvert installation near Coal Bank Pass, with detours in place at Andrews Lake Road and the Coal Bank overlook.

A Special Liquor Licensing Authority meeting convened at Town Hall this morning to review permit applications and hear community input on proposed license renewals, drawing public comment on late-hour sales and live entertainment provisions.

Weather in Telluride was cooler and wetter than yesterday, with brief but moderate showers expected through sunset before tapering off after dark. Campground visitors at Town Park were advised to pack rain gear and monitor National Weather Service updates for flash‐flood warnings.
