Ford Issues Recall of Over 355,000 Trucks for Instrument-Panel Display Failure

Aug. 28, 2025 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Company announced Thursday that it is recalling 355,656 pickup trucks in the United States because a software fault in the instrument-panel cluster (IPC) can cause the digital display to go blank when the vehicle starts, preventing drivers from seeing critical information such as speed, warning lights and fuel level.
The recall covers:
- 2025 Ford F-150
- 2025-2026 Ford Super Duty models: F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD and F-550 SD
According to a report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected IPC software was introduced in production in June 2024 and discontinued in July 2025. While Ford has received 95 warranty claims related to the defect, no crashes or injuries have been reported to date.
Owners of affected vehicles will receive notification letters beginning Sept. 2. Ford will provide a complimentary software update for the IPC, available either at authorized dealerships or via an over-the-air (OTA) update. Vehicle owners seeking more information can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall number 25S88.
