Ford Recalls Over 355,000 Trucks Due to Instrument Panel Display Failure

NEW YORK, Aug. 28, 2025 - Ford Motor Company has initiated a recall of more than 355,000 pickup trucks in the United States after regulators warned that a software glitch can leave instrument panels blank at startup, potentially hiding critical safety information and increasing crash risk.
The recall affects 2025 model-year F-150 pickups and 2025-2026 Super Duty trucks (F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD and F-550 SD) equipped with the latest digital instrument panel cluster (IPC), according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). A computer error in the IPC software can cause the display to fail when the vehicle is started, preventing drivers from seeing speed, fuel level, warning lights and other essential readouts.
Ford reports no accidents or injuries linked to the defect but has received 95 warranty claims and one Vehicle Owner Questionnaire as of June 2025. The problem stems from a batch of IPC software introduced in production from June 2024 through July 2025.
To address the issue, Ford will provide a free software update for affected vehicles. Owners can receive the update at authorized dealerships or via an over-the-air download. Notification letters outlining the remedy and instructions will be mailed starting Sept. 2, 2025.
For more information, owners may call Ford’s recall hotline at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall number 25S88.
