Idris Elba Tops AARP’s Inaugural “Hottest Actors Over 50” List

August 28, 2025 - LOS ANGELES Idris Elba has been named the Hottest Actor Over 50 in AARP’s first-ever Movies for Grownups ranking released Thursday morning. Elba leads a 25-person ensemble that includes George Clooney, Matthew McConaughey, Noah Wyle and Denzel Washington, each recognized for their “enduring appeal [that] transcends generations.” The list collectively boasts 215 Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy nominations, with 35 wins among its honorees.
