No Jackpot Winner in Mass Cash Evening Drawing

The Massachusetts State Lottery’s Mass Cash Evening drawing on Thursday, August 28, failed to produce a jackpot winner, leaving the top prize of $100,000 unclaimed. The winning numbers were:

  • 16 - 23 - 24 - 32 - 34

Twenty-seven players matched four of five numbers, each winning $500, and 1,125 players matched three numbers, each winning $20.

Keno Sales Hit Record High

Keno continued its strong performance, with August sales climbing 3.1% over July, setting a new monthly record of $142.6 million. State Lottery Executive Director Mark Bracken attributed the surge to recent prize enhancements, saying, “Our players love the fast-paced nature of Keno, and these record sales ensure we can continue to deliver more to our communities.”

Online Lottery Platform Contract Awarded

In a related development, the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission voted unanimously to award a five-year contract to Aristocrat Interactive to launch the Commonwealth’s first full-service iLottery platform next summer. The agreement, effective July 1, 2026, includes eInstants, draw games, and third-party aggregation, with potential extensions totaling an additional nine years.

Commission Chair Deborah B. Goldberg remarked, “This partnership will help us maintain over $1 billion in annual local aid, even as competition from online gaming intensifies.”
