North Carolina Awaits Next Powerball After No Jackpot Winner on August 27

RALEIGH, N.C. - Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing produced no jackpot winner, extending the longest streak without a grand prize in the game’s history. The winning numbers were 9, 12, 22, 41 and 61, with a Powerball of 25 and a 4x Power Play multiplier. The estimated jackpot rolls to an unprecedented $950 million for the Saturday, August 30 drawing.

Despite no top prize winner, North Carolina players did celebrate smaller wins. A $3 Power Play ticket sold Monday at Bass Country Store on N.C. 27 East in Coats matched four white balls plus the Powerball, earning $50,000. That prize tripled to $150,000 thanks to the 3x multiplier.

Powerball has now gone 38 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, with the odds of hitting the grand prize remaining 1 in 292.2 million. Tickets for the next drawing can be purchased at any authorized retailer or through the NC Education Lottery’s Online Play portal.
