Million-Dollar Powerball Ticket Sold in Western New York; Jackpot Climbs to $950 Million

Western New York - August 28, 2025 - A second-place Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold in Lakewood, New York, following Wednesday’s drawing, as the jackpot continues its historic ascent to $950 million for Saturday’s drawing.

The New York State Lottery confirmed that the winning $1 million ticket-matching all five white balls but missing the red Powerball-was purchased at Crosby’s convenience store located at 5 East Fairmount in Lakewood, New York. In addition to this standout prize:

  • Four third-place tickets (matching four white balls plus the Powerball) were sold in New York State. Two of these tickets won $50,000 each, while the other two were played with the Powerplay option, boosting each prize to $200,000.
  • Ninety-seven fourth-place tickets (matching four white balls only) were sold statewide, with 86 tickets winning $100 each and 11 tickets winning $400 with the Powerplay multiplier.
  • No grand prize winner emerged from the drawing, pushing the Powerball jackpot to an estimated $950 million for Saturday’s drawing, which would rank among the largest prizes in the game’s history if claimed.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 9-12-22-41-61 with a Powerball of 25. Players now have until 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday to purchase tickets for the next drawing.
