Powerball Jackpot Soars to $950 Million Ahead of Saturday Drawing

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Aug. 28, 2025 - The Powerball jackpot has rocketed to an estimated $950 million for tonight’s drawing after no ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing, marking a nearly three-month jackpot drought.

In Wednesday’s drawing, the winning numbers were 9, 12, 22, 41, 61 and the red Powerball 25, with the Power Play multiplier set at 4x. No ticket secured the jackpot, pushing the prize into the top six largest in Powerball history.

Although the grand prize went unclaimed, several players captured significant secondary prizes:

  • Three players in Mississippi, Ohio, and Virginia each won $2 million by matching all five white balls plus Power Play.
  • Three additional tickets in Arizona, New York, and Virginia matched all five white balls for $1 million apiece.
  • Dozens of players nationwide won prizes ranging from $50,000 to $200,000 by matching various combinations of white balls and the Powerball.

The estimated cash option for tonight’s jackpot stands at $428.9 million, payable as a lump sum before taxes. Ticket sales for Saturday’s drawing close at 10:00 p.m. ET, with the drawing at 10:59 p.m. ET, live from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee.

Players are reminded that Powerball tickets cost $2 per play, with an optional $1 Power Play add-on to multiply non-jackpot winnings. Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
