Travis Kelce Returns to College Roots at Nebraska-Cincinnati Season Opener

Travis Kelce made a surprise appearance on August 28, 2025, at Arrowhead Stadium to support his alma mater, the University of Cincinnati, in its season-opening college football game against Nebraska.
Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ Pro Bowl tight end, and his brother, former NFL center Jason Kelce, were on hand for the neutral-site matchup between the Cincinnati Bearcats and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Both brothers played for Cincinnati-Jason from 2007 to 2010 and Travis from 2009 to 2012-and seized the opportunity to cheer on their former team one week before the Chiefs kick off their 2025 NFL season.
During his college career, Travis Kelce recorded 59 receptions for 875 yards and 10 touchdowns over 35 games, highlighted by a breakout 2010 campaign with 45 catches for 722 yards and eight scores. The Chiefs drafted him in the third round (63rd overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft, and he has since become one of the league’s premier tight ends, helping Kansas City secure three Super Bowl championships.
Kelce’s presence at Arrowhead underscored his enduring ties to Cincinnati football just days after announcing his engagement to pop superstar Taylor Swift on August 26. With the Bearcats and Cornhuskers battling in the heart of Chiefs Kingdom, the Kelce brothers proved that college loyalties run deep-even amid NFL glory.
