Cleveland Air Show Prepares to Soar This Labor Day Weekend

CLEVELAND, OHIO - As Labor Day weekend approaches, organizers of the Cleveland National Air Show are putting the finishing touches on preparations for the annual spectacle at Burke Lakefront Airport. With gates opening at 9:00 a.m. each day and flying scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the three-day event promises thrill-packed aerobatics, military demonstrations and interactive exhibits beginning Saturday, August 30, through Monday, September 1.

Weather Outlook Meteorologist Trent Magill of WEWS reports a mostly clear forecast for Friday and the holiday weekend, with high temperatures near 75 °F, light southwest winds at 5-10 mph, and no significant chance of rain-ideal conditions for both performers and spectators.

Performers and Highlights This year’s lineup features the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds delivering precision formation routines at speeds up to 500 mph, alongside the debut of the Red Bull Air Force’s multi-aircraft aerobatic performance-including inverted helicopter maneuvers and skydiving teams-guaranteed to “blow audiences away”. Vintage Warbird displays, parachute jumps by the U.S. Army Golden Knights and ground attractions such as the Hot Streak II jet truck add historical context and interactive elements.

Tickets and Parking Reminder Advance purchase of both general admission tickets and on-site parking passes is mandatory; there will be no gate sales. Gates close promptly at 3:00 p.m. daily, and vehicles without a day-specific parking pass will be turned away. Spectators are encouraged to secure tickets online by 12:00 p.m. on event days and to buy parking passes before 3:00 p.m. today to avoid sold-out notices.

Safety and Schedule Notices All acts and times remain subject to change for safety reasons. Visitors should check daily updates at on-site information centers and heed instructions regarding temporary flight restrictions when Cleveland Browns Stadium or Guardians Field events coincide with the show.

With perfect weather forecast and a packed roster of aerial feats, the Cleveland National Air Show is set to deliver one of the region’s most anticipated holiday attractions. Don’t miss your chance to witness gravity-defying performances against the backdrop of Lake Erie and the downtown skyline.
