Elijah Wood’s Horror Sequel Preview and Film Release

Elijah Wood revealed new details about the upcoming horror sequel Ready or Not 2 in a fresh interview published today. Speaking to Soap Central, Wood explained that the film “expands on the mythology” of the 2019 original and “takes place almost immediately after the first one ends,” promising fans an even deeper dive into the world they loved. The sequel, directed by the duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and produced by Searchlight Pictures, is scheduled for an April 10, 2026 theatrical release.

Meanwhile, Wood’s latest genre outing officially hits theaters today. The Toxic Avenger, in which Wood stars alongside Peter Dinklage and Kevin Bacon, finally opens nationwide following its festival circuit premiere. Cineverse will distribute the horror-comedy reboot, in which a terminally ill janitor transforms into a radioactive hero determined to protect his community from corrupt forces.

In a separate report released this morning by Deadline Film + TV, Wood reiterated his enthusiasm for Ready or Not 2, praising Radio Silence’s vision and expressing excitement for audiences to “see how it really deepens that mythology”.
