Greg Gutfeld Criticizes Democrats Over Minnesota Church Shooting on “The Five”

NEW YORK, Aug. 29, 2025 - On Friday morning’s edition of Fox News’s panel program “The Five,” co-host Greg Gutfeld delivered a blistering critique of Democratic leaders, the mainstream media, and academic institutions, accusing them of cultivating the ideological environment that precipitated Thursday’s deadly church shooting in Minnesota.

In the wake of the attack at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis-where a trans-identifying male, identified as Robin Westman, allegedly opened fire, killing two children and wounding 17 others-Gutfeld laid the blame squarely on what he termed a “trans delusion” perpetuated by political and cultural elites. He argued that while identity politics are fervently promoted when celebrating progressive causes, they are swiftly dismissed when an individual commits violence. “The most compassionate people on this planet are trying to stop the trans delusion,” Gutfeld asserted. “The least compassionate are the people in the media, academia, and politicians who enabled this hysteria of horror”.

Gutfeld went on to single out Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki for their responses. He characterized Frey’s defense of the “trans community” and Psaki’s focus on gun control as “escape attempts” designed to shirk responsibility. Pointing to a manifesto allegedly penned by the gunman, who stated he was “tired of being trans” and regretted having “brainwashed” himself, Gutfeld declared, “What more do you need straight from the monster’s mouth? Politicians, activists, and teachers built this-and they could have listened to the warnings”.

Later on Friday, Fox News released a clip of Gutfeld’s segment under the headline “Greg Gutfeld: The Democratic Party is ‘words without deeds,’” underscoring his broader contention that Democratic rhetoric frequently fails to translate into effective policy or moral accountability.
